Jonathan Mandolo is a research scientist under the Virology group at Malawi Liverpool welcome trust which he joined in June 2015. He is interested in Systems Biology and Bioinformatics. He would like to use his molecular and Bioinformatics techniques to try to understand why vaccines like rotavirus vaccine efficacy are low in developing countries like Malawi. Particularly, he is interested to understand how maternal factors affect Rotavirus vaccine efficacy.
Jonathan Mandolo holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Honours) obtained at the University of Malawi-College of Medicine obtained in 2014. He is now doing a Master of Science in Bioinformatics at the University of Malawi-College of Medicine. He will later apply for a Ph.D. to specialize in Systems Biology and Bioinformatics. His long-term plan is to become an independent researcher in the Systems Biology and Bioinformatics field.
