We proudly host an annual science quiz designed to cultivate the confidence, presentation skills, and scientific knowledge of budding scientists in schools, positively influencing their engagement with science and the challenges confronting Malawi. The quiz aims to showcase the top science students, allowing them to compete on a public platform and exchange ideas. Instead of traditional cash prizes, SCI4O is committed to a targeted approach that supports schools in the field of science. Post each quiz, we conduct a comprehensive needs assessment of participating schools to pinpoint deficiencies and gaps in their science education resources.

Based on these assessments, we provide schools with crucial science equipment, laboratory materials, or educational resources that directly enhance their science education programs. This approach not only encourages participation but also ensures that SCI4O’s support leaves a lasting and meaningful impact on the schools and students. Previously, only secondary schools from the Southern Region of Malawi have participated in the SCI4O quizzes. However, on 9th November 2024, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and private sector donors, we are thrilled to announce our inaugural annual National SCI4O Quiz at the Bingu International Conference Centre, Lilongwe, Malawi.
