Pamodzi study
This Wellcome funded study will advance innovative social science research focused on understanding how communities experience and respond to the health impacts of climate change. The project will explore local vulnerabilities and intergrate experiential or Indigenous knowledge as central components of community‑led adaptation and resilience.
Using Participatory Action Research (PAR), we will co‑design a new approach that empowers communities to initiate dialogue, strengthen accountability, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to address climate‑related health challenges. The research will also integrate participatory evaluation methods, including citizen science ethnography, reflective workshops, and in‑depth interviews to document and analyse community experiences as they engage in these adaptation processes.
The findings will offer important methodological and theoretical contributions, advancing community‑led climate adaptation and promoting epistemic justice in global health research.
