Construction of a new research facility in Chikhwawa will start soon as MLW has received a £160,000 (MWK 107 milllion) grant from the Wellcome Trust for the work.

Once completed, the new research facility will support the growing number of research activities in Chikhwawa District.
The funding will allow the construction of a dedicated clinical research building on the grounds of Chikhwawa hospital, thus developing the new MLW Chikhwawa child survival Initiative to the next level.
