Talitha Mpando
Research Assistant
Talitha Mpando is a Research Assistant at the Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Programme (MLW) with seven years of experience in public health research, particularly in knowledge translation and stakeholder engagement.
Her work focuses on supporting policy-relevant research aimed at strengthening evidence-informed decision-making. She coordinates stakeholder engagement processes, develops knowledge products such as policy briefs, and facilitates the uptake of research evidence through policy dialogues, priority-setting workshops, and community engagement activities.
She previously served as an Integrated Knowledge Translation (IKT) Research Fellow within the Collaboration for Evidence-Based Healthcare and Public Health in Africa (CEBHA+) at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), where she developed and implemented stakeholder engagement strategies and contributed to multisectoral efforts to integrate evidence into health policy and practice.
Talitha is an active participant in the Africa Evidence Network, contributing to initiatives that strengthen knowledge translation, foster collaboration, and enhance the use of research evidence for policy and practice across African contexts.
She holds a Master of Public Health from KuHES and a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Environmental Science from Rhodes University.
