Marah is a pre-MSc Intern within the Viral Immunology Research Group under the supervision of Dr Kondwani Jambo. She obtained a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Malawi (College of Medicine) in 2018.
Her internship is linked to a project that is investigating the influence of gut microbiota on development of Mucosal Associated Invariant T (MAIT) Cells in early life. In addition, she coordinates the Science for All (Sci4O), an initiative under MLW aimed at encouraging the youth in Malawi to pursue clinical and biomedical science careers.
Her immediate goal is to pursue a Master of Science degree in Immunology and her long-term career goal is to become a clinician scientist and research leader in Immunology focusing on infectious diseases that contribute to high childhood mortality in sub Saharan Africa.
