Jonathan Mandolo

Jonathan Mandolo is a research scientist under virology group at Malawi Liverpool welcome trust. He is interested in virology. He would like to use his molecular and immunological techniques trying to understand why vaccines like rotavirus vaccine efficacy is low in developing countries like Malawi. Particularly, he is interested to understand how maternal microbiome affects vaccine efficacy by looking at relationship between maternal breast milk microbiota and infant gut microbiota and see how that affect rotavirus vaccine response.
Jonathan Mandolo hold Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory sciences (honours) obtained at the university of Malawi-College of medicine obtained in 2014. He is now doing Master of Science in Bioinformatics at the University of Malawi-College of medicine, which he is expecting to complete in 2020. From then, he would like to apply for PhD and specialize in Molecular biology. Long-term plan is to become an independent researcher in Molecular biology field and later become a Leader in the field.
