Phylis Mzanga

Phylis is a Programme Manager at Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Programme (MLW) under Malaria Epidemiology Group led by Dr Anja Terlouw. She aims at becoming an international expert in health management and planning. Phylis has a Nursing and Midwifery degree from the University of Malawi, Kamuzu College of Nursing. She also attained Clinical Trial Management for Study Coordinators in low-middle income countries training organised by the Faculty of Capacity Development (FCD), Strathmore University, Kenya and University of Siena, Italy and the Practices of Leadership in Health training by MLW. Phylis aims to pursue a master’s degree in Public Health – Health Management, Planning and Policy to contribute towards leadership and governance in the health sector in Malawi. She plays a managerial role in the GlaxoSmithKline sponsored RTS,S/AS01E malaria vaccine phase IV studies to be piloted in Malawi, Kenya and Ghana. Phylis is involved in project planning, budgeting, implementation and management for these studies.
