The MLW Welfare body has elected a new executive committee for the next three years under a poll which took place on 9 February 2022.

During the elections, Kondwani Chaluma was elected as the Chairperson after amassing 16 votes, Chimwemwe Theu emerged the Vice Chairperson bagging 14 votes, Fanny Kapakasa was crowned the secretary after scooping 15 votes deputised by Bertha Mikiseni Chikaonda who got 4 votes.

The electorates also chose for Onesta Mandala as the treasurer and Tiferanji Sochera as her vice with 40 and 21 votes respectively.

Commenting after the elections, the newly elected chairperson thanked the outgoing chairperson and ex-committee for the tremendous job they have done during their tenure.

Meanwhile, the new MLW welfare committee chairperson has appealed for active participation of welfare members.
