Priyanka Patel has been awarded the Carl Storm International Diversity award to attend the prestigious Gordon Research Conference (GRC) in Italy and has been granted financial support of $1250.
Vey delighted by the award, Priyanka had this to say, “This award will enable me to attend the conference and share the work I have done and meet with the experts in the Salmonella field as well as build collaborative relationships. Being the recipient of this prestigious award is an honour.
Priyanka Patel is a master’s student working with Professor Melita Gordon in the Salmonella and Enterics Research Group. She led the phase III typhoid conjugate vaccine trial (TyVAC study) and is currently leading a phase 4 impact surveillance study (MITIMA study) in Blantyre. In addition, she is also part of the team in an upcoming phase 2a study of the trivalent typhoid/iNTS vaccine study.
Priyanka has grown immensely in her practical and academic experience and skills and has unparalleled hands-on experience in clinical trials from phase 2a right through to phase 4.
